3rd Annual “Fore the Kids” Golf Tournament Raises $32K for Foster Family Alliance of NC
MONROE, N.C. — As North Carolina continues to face a shortage of licensed foster homes, Foster Family Alliance of North Carolina (FFA-NC) raised more than $32,000 through its 3rd Annual “Fore the Kids” Golf Tournament to support foster, kinship, and adoptive families statewide.
The tournament, held April 20 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, brought together 46 golfers, 21 volunteers, and 54 sponsors and donors for a day of fundraising and awareness.
The fundraiser comes ahead of Foster Care Awareness Month in May, a time when child welfare advocates are calling attention to the growing need for more support for families caring for children and youth in foster care.
“Every foster, kinship, and adoptive family needs a strong support system around them,” said Gaile Osborne, FFA-NC’s Executive Director. “This tournament helps us continue providing resources, advocacy, and connection to the families who are caring for children across North Carolina.”
The event included a shotgun start, lunch, awards, silent auction, and raffle. Proceeds will help FFA-NC continue its statewide work supporting children and youth in foster care and the families and professionals who care for them.
Sponsors and donors included Colonial Packaging, Crossnore Communities for Children, Thompson Child & Family Focus, Omni Family of Services NC, Carolina Towing, Sawyer Tax & Accounting, Digitize4U, Zachary Cohen, Joyce Tice, Prestige Farms and dozens of additional community supporters.
